Hair Intolerance Testing

Taking the guesswork out of the equation with a
Hair Test for Food & Environmental Substances

Do you suspect that you  might have an intolerance or sensitivity to a certain food or environmental allergen but you can't work out what it is?

Or do you feel that you might have candida (commonly resulting from recurrent antibiotics which kill of all the good bacteria indiscriminately -  as well as the infection that they are targeting) and have symptoms such as recurrent vaginal thrush, fungal infections or weird bowel motions?

Sometimes reactions to foods are 'masked' or cumulative so don't show up straight after exposure. Often clients will have given up dairy, or wheat or sugar and feel somewhat better but then their symptoms come back. This may because there are other substances also causing a reaction in the body.

Some people feel that they are reacting to environmental substances such as pollen or grasses but it turns out that it is actually their gut that is out of balance and needs addressing. 70% plus of the immune system is in the gut!

The benefit of a Hair Test is that you get the guesswork       taken out of the equation so you can get on with healing as soon as you get your results back.

Some of the symptoms that may be experienced by foods or environmental substances causing irritation/ inflammation in your body:

  • bloating, a queasy tummy, wind, reflux or heartburn, bowel irregularities, IBS or any digestive symptoms

  •  eczema, rashes, hay fever, joint or lower back pain

  •  poor concentration, anxiety, depression, brain fog

  •  fatigue, headaches or migraines

  • a constant running nose or itchy nose/ back of throat

  • dark circles under the eyes, or a coated tongue

  • feeling yucky after smelling petrol fumes or the chemical aisle in the supermarket

About the Hair Test.

The Hair Testing procedure we use at Warkworth Naturopath is based on an electro-acupuncture diagnostic method  (EAV)  that has been popular in Europe for over 30 years.

Your results will come back with a rating from 10 - 1 (and specified as High, Medium or Low). You will see clearly which foods need to be avoided and for how long. Plus you will see what hasn't come up as reactive so is safe for you to eat.

We only require a small sample (approximately 1 teaspoon) of your hair  for the test. If you can't get enough hair, nail clippings may be used. Hair dye doesn't affect the results, and we need the hair closest to the scalp. This will give us the most up to date results.

"The layout of the Hair Test is so clear & it is easy to understand which foods to eat & for how long we need to avoid others. I am finding it much more user friendly than the test I have used before with XX."

“It was a tough 3-4 weeks to change everything but with a huge help from my partner doing my food and making sure I keep going, it really paid off.

My nasal allergies went away after 2 weeks. I still get a bit nasally but nowhere near as much as I used to be.

My stomach has been better with no reflux what so ever. These were the two major things I had problems with & it's definitely helped. I lost a bit of weight and feel really good.

Thankyou for all of this - I've had congestion issues my whole life & now it is really good.”

"I have suffered from IBS for 20 years! Since having the hair test and avoiding most of the foods on the list and taking the supplements you recommended - I've had improvement in my symptoms for the first time." T Matakana

Hair Testing is not recommended as a substitute for medical diagnosis by your doctor.

“When our son broke out in eczema as a baby, we were desperate to get to the bottom of it. Fortunately we found Jasmin and her hair testing service, which gave us an in-depth look at what was going on for our son. We experienced some amazing results by avoiding the allergens that came back on our test. It was a no-brainer really, to have our second child tested before solids too. We have found the hair testing process to be a great investment into the health and well-being of our children. Thank you, Jasmin"  Hannah
